Recently in my Facebook travels I came across an intriguing new baby product:

Baby socks that don’t fall off!

What? No way! I was immediately drawn in because that is a steep claim.  I can’t tell you how many times each day I am retrieving socks that have fallen off and tucking chubby little feet back into them.  With twins it’s crucial to minimize the amount of unnecessary work in a day because there’s already too much to do.

I decided to put these socks to the test to see if they really did live up to their claim.

Squid Socks sent me several pairs of socks to try out with my babies.  What makes these socks unique is that they have silicone dots on the inside of the cuff.  This is what magically keeps them from falling off.

free pacific science center

Huge thank you to the Pacific Science Center for putting together this deal for us! My family loves checking out the exhibits at the Science Center (the boys are fascinated by the dinosaurs) and we have had a membership there for several years. The problem is that when our nanny took our kids to visit, our membership didn’t cover her admission.

Not anymore!

Until January 31, Nanny Parent Connection members can purchase a DUAL or FAMILY membership and receive one free FLEX guest pass for the entire year. A FLEX pass creates a permanent, unnamed guest on your membership that can accompany any listed member throughout the year. Perfect for nannies or sitters taking the little ones for a visit!

Exclusive Discount from Seattle Children's Theater
Mr. Popper’s Penguins at the Seattle Children’s Theater

This is a great activity for the family or with your Nanny Kids!

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is a 70 minute (no intermission) performance suitable for ages 4+.

About the show: Mr. and Mrs. Popper are an ordinary couple in an ordinary English town…until some extraordinary Antarctic penguins come to stay! Lighting up the stage with song and dance, these birds possess talents rivaling the best of vaudeville. Delight in imaginative storytelling, hilarious puppetry and charming musical numbers as these talented creatures warm their way into your heart, taking you and the Poppers on an unpredictable, toe-tapping adventure.

I received no compensation for this review.  Opinions expressed here are solely my own.

AmazonFresh Pickup ReviewWhen I found out I was having twins last March one of my go-to lines to tell my dental patients was, “Yeah…you know when you see a mom with four kids…in the grocery store…with two shopping carts…and you feel a little sorry for her?  So that’s going to be me!”  I say that with plenty of humor because my children mean the world to me.

However.  Any time that all four must accompany me to the store, it is not my ideal situation as it makes for a lot of moving parts (mostly my toddler).  Also, you can’t fit two carseat carriers in the cart and have room leftover inside for the actual groceries, so then one has to go in the Ergo, etc, etc.

Shopping for groceries is lovely if I can do it alone.

It’s like a mini spa day for me if I can get a coffee to sip as I stroll through the aisles at a leisurely pace (yes my definition of things that are like a mini spa day has evolved quite a bit over the last few years.  Seriously, no – let me go to the post office.  Please!).  Basically with four kids you are never going to go grocery shopping alone again.  Ever.  Again.

Long Term Update

We have been using the Vusee Universal Flat Baby Monitor Mount every day for nearly two months now and we still love it! With the special mount up high on the wall, we can keep a close eye on our babies and watch them in their cribs. Since they are able to roll over now, being able to see them clearly on the monitor gives us extra peace of mind.  I also tested the camera mount and everything is still mounted to the wall securely.

Nanny Parent Connection members can purchase this product at a 20% discount with the code that I posted to our Facebook community at www.vusee.co/shop. Get a better view inside your baby’s crib today!

Does the view from your baby monitor look like this? Read on for a product review that will solve your video baby monitor location woes!

I requested this product and it was sent to me free of charge. Opinions expressed here are my own.

Here is the problem we have been dealing with ever since our first child was born:

video baby monitor location

We can barely see our sleeping babies!

Obviously, I want to be able to see my babies with a video monitor when they are sleeping (that’s the point, right?).  The problem I always seem to have is that the edge of the crib is a terrible place to put the camera, but that is where I would get the best picture.  The next best place to put it – usually on a dresser or a shelf that’s across the room – gives me a terrible view of the inside of the crib.
