•Location: Seahurst Neighborhood of Burien, WA

•Ideal Start Date: August 2024

•Children: Twin 11 year old girls and twin 15 year old girls

•Compensation: $27-30/hr depending on experience and qualifications, with guaranteed hours, accrued paid sick time, paid holidays, paid time off.  A vehicle will be provided for driving the children to and from school and activities.

One year minimum commitment, longer term commitment preferred

The Family:

This busy family has two school-aged sets of twins that are bound to entertain you and make you laugh! They are fun children and they enjoy staying busy with different activities, interests, and extracurriculars.  They are seeking help with getting their girls off to school in the mornings, and with transportation, meals after .  We would like someone who can work in the mornings to help get one or two of the kids to school since we will have 3 different students heading in different directions. Mom works early and has to be in Tacoma by 8:15 am.

***

One of the 15 year olds boards at Annie Wright School in Tacoma and will need some transportation for her for activities (especially in the summer).

The second 15 year old attends Kennedy High School in Burien. She will need help with meals, transportation to and from school and activities, and help staying on task with her homework. Although she will have tutors, she does not stay on task well when someone is not monitoring her. She is a quiet sweet young lady, but tends to procrastinate with homework. When she does it, she does very well. But it takes her a longer time to complete it as she has mild ADD, mostly manifested with poor executive management skills.

The older 11 year old is pretty independent with homework, but may occasionally need help. She mostly needs meals, driving for activities, and help with laundry.  She has allergies to peanuts, pistachios, and cashews.

The younger 11 year old has severe ADD, but is it inattentive type like Carissa. She will be attending Hamlin Robinson in the fall, so she is supposed to only have one hour or less of homework to do every night.  Should be able to do it herself, but she may need help with staying on task.

After school, the nanny will pick up the 11 year olds and get them to their various activities, as well as making dinner (typically a meal kit), feeding the kids and helping with homework as needed.  One of the 11 year olds has ADHD and struggles with homework focus.  She will need more help and oversight with homework, particularly with reading and math.

It is important to note that one of the girls has an allergy to peanuts, cashews, and pistachios and carries an epipen. Another has a dairy allergy.

The family has a dog, a cat, guinea pigs, and fish in the home for any nannies with allergy considerations. The parents do the majority of pet care.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children. Additional job duties include:

  • Providing safe transportation to and from school and to/from activities in a vehicle provided by the family
  • Children’s laundry
  • Prepping/serving of simple meals or meal kits
  • Dishes and kitchen clean up
  • Homework help, keeping kids focused and on task
  • Driving kids to various activities
  • Tidying of spaces used throughout the day

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:

Their ideal nanny has 2+ years of relevant experience, is patient, organized, energetic, fun, tech savvy, and an excellent driver. They should be patient, know how to communicate well with children, and have the ability to help with 6th grade reading and math. Experience or knowledge with ADHD/ADD is preferred but not mandatory.  A college student or graduate would be ideal!

The nanny should be fully Covid vaccinated and boosted. They should have a valid Driver’s License, and a clean driving record. They should also have a current CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap).
