He loves cars, songs, reading books, and playing with his sister. The three-year-old girl is very smart, aware, opinionated, and loves Elsa, drawing, and playing with her brother (most of the time)! She also enjoys independent play. The 14-month-old baby is very sweet and easygoing.

Mom has her own business and works from home, and dad is a physician who works seven days in a row and then has 2 weeks off. The family has two friendly and active border collies.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children. In addition to general care, the nanny will provide weekday/evening help with school pickup, dinner prep and bath time for older kids, playtime prior to bed, and help with clean up and preparing for the next day.

The care provider will engage the children in age-appropriate developmental activities both indoors and outdoors. This will include music, play, motor skills, reading, activities, etc.

The nanny will also be responsible for tidying any spaces used throughout the day, and meal prep for the children. The family would appreciate occasional help with walking the dogs as well.

General Schedule:

Mornings 5:30/6 am – 8 am –

– get the kids dressed, have breakfast, and make ready for school, breakfast is nothing special – cereal, yogurt, fruit, maybe an occasional egg, does not require much cooking.

– The baby usually wakes up first, gets a diaper changed and the older kids get up around 6:30 am.

– Maximum the nanny would be with all 3 kids in the morning for 1 hour until the daytime nanny comes at 7 am.

– The older kids dress themselves, just need to be told to brush their teeth and to play quietly with them, doing puzzles, reading books, legos, etc…

Afternoons – 4pm – 8pm:

– 4 pm – 4:45 pm the nanny can use the time to cook dinner for the kids, she will not have any kids to take care of at this time as the daytime nanny takes care of the baby until about 4:45 pm.

– The baby goes to sleep at 6 pm.

– At 6 pm the 2 older kids get home and the nanny will then feed the 2 older kids and give baths and read and get ready for bed from 6 pm – 7:30 pm.

– 7:30 pm – 8 pm she will clean up the playroom/kitchen/anything else as the kids will already be in bed.

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications:

The family is looking to partner with an experienced nanny/household manager who is organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter. They would like to find someone who has experience working with siblings close in age and also with infant development. COVID-19/ Special Considerations: The family has been keeping their risk for Covid as low as possible, and they prefer partnering with a nanny who is doing the same. Detail-Oriented, Nanny/Family Assistant Needed in Kent
#ES0915

DETAILS:

•Location: Lakeland North Area border of Auburn/Kent/Federal Way, WA

•Ideal Start Date: September 2021/ASAP

Schedule: Flexible – need two days per week: Wednesday and/or Thursdays.  One 6-8 hour day is needed, and one 2-6 hour day, if the care provider’s schedule can accommodate. (Family is also open to some Monday or Friday care days if that worked for the provider. And, the family can also offer some occasional weekend and evening care opportunities if this worked for the provider.)

•Children: 3.5-year-old boy and 21-month girl

•Compensation: $20-23/hour with guaranteed hours

• Six months to one year minimum commitment is ideal.

***Must be legally authorized to work in the United States***

The Family:

This family of four is seeking a hard-working, industrious, kind, and conscientious nanny and family assistant to partner with! Seeking a provider who enjoys working with their gifts and talents of childcare and household management, and takes pride in being a hard worker who will ultimately help this family achieve more balance in their home and life.

The family considers themselves to be fairly traditional overall, and they strive to practice Respectful, Gentle, Attachment, and Simplicity Parenting philosophies.  They also integrate Montessori and Respect in Educare (RIE) approaches.  They prefer no screen or television time.

They have fun-loving family culture, yet are very overwhelmed at this time and seeking more structure in filling this role to help facilitate a foundation of order and predictability in their home and family life.

The parents are seeking support to ease the stress of feeling behind in the household and self-care management. A lot of big transitions have happened in a short time, such as a move, having two children in under 20 months, and having most of their existing support network move away.  They are hoping this care provider can help to provide much-needed” breathing room” and support in the form of childcare, tidying and organizing general household pick-up, and light cleaning. Possible help with vendor follow-up and appointment booking may be needed.

As this partnership and relationship between the caregiver/family assistant and parents/family progress, it immensely helps the family to have providers intuitively and instinctively know where they can best of value and help without being asked. Also, the willingness of the caregiver to ask questions or leave notes if they are unsure how to proceed is appreciated and valued by this family, as are lots of communication where needed/helpful.

The family will be having more children in the coming years and if the provider is looking for a longer-term role there will be many opportunities for this as more hours of childcare with the toddlers will be needed during pregnancy and when new babies arrive.

There is a fragrance sensitivity in the home (laundry, hair, skin products), so the family asks that their care provider not wear items with strongly scented detergents. Especially no dryer sheets or laundry fragrance “extenders,” as well as perfume. They would be happy to provide unscented detergent or provide a “uniform” for work if desired.   **Note: the family is NOT Covid vaccinated for any nannies who are not comfortable with this, but they are very Covid cautious.

The Job Description:

The nanny/family assistant will be responsible for ensuring a safe, respectful and caring environment for the children throughout the day.

The family is also strongly seeking help with household support.  As the children will often play independently nearby and do not need to be “entertained,” most times, the family deeply appreciates caregivers knowing how they can best help the family/household “move forward” and “keep up” with regular household needs and tasks.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring physical and emotional safety of children
  • Caring for children in a manner that is consistent with and upholds parenting and family values (gentle and respectful parenting) whilst also holding firm boundaries parents have indicated
  • Taking absolute ownership/pride/joy of home, space, and children from the moment they come to the front porch
  • Taking the initiative to jump in and help set mom up for success by assisting her getting out the door/assessing what is needed for that (do children need immediate attention, help with gently transitioning mom leaving, keeping children engaged, etc)
  • Meal and snack prep being mindful of the family’s gluten and dairy-free diets; letting parents know if they notice food inventory low; dishes cleanup (dishwasher loading/unloading, hand washing needed items, putting dishes away after cleaning)
  • Diaper changes and potty assistance, including restocking diaper supplies and communicating with parents when stock is getting low, and keeping the bathroom area clean and tidy follow children’s use (and using children to help in these tasks where and when appropriate to help them learn to tidy after themselves in the bathroom).
  • Helping to keep play areas clean and tidy and involving the children with these tasks/“toy management” (helping to rotate toys in/out)
  • Laundry help: collect/start the wash, folding/putting away, etc
  • Daily tidying of any spaces used throughout the day (again, using kids’ help/teaching them to tidy if appropriate/if time or schedule allows, etc.)
  • Occasional additional household help with keeping floors clean (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping), tidying toys in the yard, taking out the trash, and other needed tasks or small projects (particularly if parents are home and the family assistant scope is more needed versus nanny/childcare).

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications:

The family would like to partner with an engaging, organized, and nurturing nanny who has at least two years of toddler and preschooler care experience, and who has experience with household assisting.  Familiarity with Montessori or Waldorf philosophies would be nice to have and if the caregiver also has knowledge about Respectful Parenting (RIE) or Simplicity Parenting that is a bonus. Parents are happy to help educate caregivers along the way, as well.

The nanny should be a non-smoker and be current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update).  It is important to the family that they partner with a nanny who is taking Covid precautions, including masking, social distancing, and practicing stellar hand hygiene.  To note, the family is open to working with a nanny who is NOT vaccinated for Covid.

Experienced, Patient Big Sister” PT Nanny Needed in Renton, WA
#BF1001

DETAILS:

•Location: Renton Highlands, WA

•Ideal Start Date: October 2021 (ideal)/ early November at the latest

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:30-6:30, flexibility to cover “no school days” is ideal

Child: 12-year-old girl

•Compensation: $22-$25/hr DOE and qualifications with guaranteed hours, paid time off, accrued sick time, and mileage reimbursement

• Commitment through the end of the school year is ideal

**Must be legally authorized to work in the United States**

The Family:

This loving, liberal two-Dad home is looking for an after-school nanny to step in as a “big sister” for their daughter! As a family, they value love, respect, honesty, grace, generosity, and adventure.

About their daughter: she is 12 years old and has a mitochondrial disorder called Kearns Sayre Syndrome. It causes her to be very small, meaning she looks to be around 7 and has a maturity level of around the same age. It has also manifested as deteriorating vision, ADHD, and anxiety.

Make no mistake, however, she is extremely witty, engaging, fun, and loves people! She has done very well with nannies in the past who had a genuine interest in her as a person, but she does need firm rules and directions.

Also, a heads up for all of the animal lovers! The family has 2 sweet dogs- a golden retriever and a Havanese!

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for after-school pickup, and taking their child to OT/PT and doctor appts as needed, going to the park, or simply playing games or coloring until the parents get home from work. Their child can handle all personal care on her own, but she may need to be reminded.

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications:

Experience with ADHD, anxiety, or kiddos with ASD is required. The ability to be patient, loving, and firm is ideal. She is a black-and-white thinker, so a set schedule and rules are important as it is difficult for her to shift gears.  She is on medication for ADHD and anxiety, but the nanny will not be required to give meds and no medical experience is needed. She does speak French so a french speaker would be a great match but is not required.

The nanny should be vaccinated against Covid and DTAP, and be current with CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update).  They should hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and have a safe, reliable vehicle for driving on the job.

Their three-year-old is a sweet, active, inquisitive toddler.  He attends preschool each morning until 12:30 pm.  He has some sensory challenges that the family is currently exploring.  He has a younger brother who attends daycare nearby, so care will primarily be for the toddler.  The family has many play areas around their home.

Mom and dad work from home in office spaces separate from the main living areas. Mom works in communications; dad spends some time working onsite in an outdoor environment under strict Covid precautions.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the child throughout the day.  In addition to general care, feeding, changing into nap clothes, helping with the potty, etc, the care provider will provide safe transportation for school, activities, and outings, and engage the child in age-appropriate developmental activities both indoors and outdoors.  This may include music, play, motor skills, reading, activities, etc.  The nanny will also be responsible for tidying any spaces used throughout the day and occasional help with additional duties such as running to the local market occasionally is also appreciated!

Experienced Nanny/Household Manager Needed for Carnation Family
#MM0104

DETAILS:

•Location: Carnation, WA

•Ideal Start Date: November 2021 (flex until January 2022 for start date)

Hours: 8:00 am-6:00 pm Monday through Friday

Children: 15 yr boy, 10 yr boy, 3 yr girl

•Compensation: $22-25/hour DOE, guaranteed hours, approximately 6 weeks paid time off, accrued sick leave, overtime pay.  Legal pay with taxes withheld

Vehicle for transportation during the workday provided

Six months to one-year minimum commitment preferred

**Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

The Family:

This fun, busy family is seeking a fantastic nanny to partner with!  Nannies tend to become a part of the family and stay with them for a long time, which they love! Nannying for them is a little more like co-parenting with the trust and respect that go along with it.  They are open to different lifestyles and family constructs and may not be the best fit for a very conservative nanny.  They love the outdoors, and they live in a park-like setting on 22 acres with their own trails and river access.

Their children are smart, creative, and articulate individuals who need respect and stimulation.  They love delving into intelligent, thought-provoking conversations.  The 15-year-old is a bright teenager who is creative and has some special learning needs, and their 10-year-old is more social and gregarious.  Their toddler is adventurous and spirited and she loves to spend time actively exploring the outdoors!

Mom and dad are both corporate executives who have demanding schedules.  They consider themselves to be good employers who want to ensure a positive, cohesive, seamless working environment for their nanny.

The family has two dogs (one lazy dog and one energetic puppy) for any nannies who have allergy considerations.

The Job Description:

The nanny/household manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children throughout the day.  In addition to general care, the nanny will be responsible for:

  • snack and meal prep

  • providing safe transportation for bus drop-offs, appointments, activities, and outings
  • engaging the children in age-appropriate developmental activities both indoors and outdoors
  • bring forth curriculum ideas for the toddler
  • tidying any spaces used throughout the day

Household management duties include:

  • taking initiative with keeping the family and household on track in general
  • light cleaning
  • family laundry
  • grocery shopping
  • dog care during the day

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications:

The family is looking to partner with an organized, intelligent nanny/household manager to who the parents can confidently trust to hand off duties.  The family does not like to micromanage, so a nanny who needs a lot of instruction after the first few weeks will likely not be the best fit for them.  The nanny should be able to anticipate needs (within reason- they don’t expect you to have a crystal ball!) and be proactive whether that means planning for and scheduling activities and classes for the toddler, or coordinating with mom’s online calendar to get off work early, if needed.

The nanny should truly enjoy working with toddlers, be Covid vaccinated, have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, have a safe and reliable vehicle, have a clean background (a background check will be run), and be current with their CPR/First Aid Certification.
