*** Must be legally authorized to work in the United States ***
The Family:
This friendly, professional family is seeking a fantastic nanny to partner with! The parents enjoy trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. Dad works full time from home and travels for work at times. Mom needs some time for errands, projects, part time work, and self care.
Their four month old is sweet and smiley! His personality develops more and more each day, and he is curious about the world around him. He can’t wait to have a nanny buddy who will read to him, play, smile, and laugh with him, and go on walks with him. He’s in a great eat/play/sleep routine that’s been working well for him.
The family has two cats in the home for any nannies with allergy considerations. They do have pet care in place for the summer, however if the nanny would like to cat sit for them over the summer they would be open to discussing that.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their baby, and occasionally for their four year old as well. Nanny duties will include:
- Keeping baby on a good routine with feedings, play, naps
- Engaging baby in age appropriate developmental activities and play both indoors and outdoors
- Bottle feeding baby, washing baby’s bottles and pump parts
- Preparing and cleaning up child’s meals as they transition to solids
- Changing diapers, restocking diaper bag and supplies as needed
- Facilitating nap time
- Helping with baby laundry as needed
- Helping to maintain the organization of children’s rooms and play spaces
- Daily tidying spaces used throughout the day
Family assisting duties will include:
- Light family laundry
- Meal prep
- Grocery pickup/shopping/putting away
- Occasional errands
- Organization (seasonal decor, pantry, etc)
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
The family would like to partner with an experienced nanny who is warm, engaging, patient, and loving. They should have at least two years of relevant infant care experience, and have a good understanding of age appropriate developmental activities/developmental milestones for children. Mom is hispanic, and it would be a bonus for their family to partner with a Spanish speaking nanny who could speak Spanish with their son.
The nanny should have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. They must be Covid cautious and have a low risk of Covid exposure, and be up to date with all vaccinations including Covid + booster, TDap, and annual influenza. The nanny should be current with their infant CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap).
Adventurous, Reliable Nanny Needed for Preschooler in Bothell
#LP0821
DETAILS:
•Location: Bothell, WA
•Ideal Start Date: August 2023 (looking to have care lined up by June)
•Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am- 4/4:30 pm
•Child: one child who is 3.7 years old
•Compensation: $25-$28/hr depending on experience and qualifications, with guaranteed hours, accrued paid sick time, paid holidays and some of Lake Washington School District off days, legally paid with taxes withheld. The nanny will have six weeks off (unpaid) during the summer, from June until mid August. (**Nannies placed by Nanny Parent Connection have the opportunity to become Verified Care Providers, and NPC can help this family’s nanny to find temp work during the summer weeks if the nanny would like.)
Because their caregiver knows of their holidays breaks well in advance, they highly value the nanny taking their vacation during these periods. The family estimates the nanny will have around 5-6 weeks’ worth of paid time off during the school year.
• One-year minimum commitment required, longer-term preferred
*** Must be legally authorized to work in the United States ***
The Family:
This multigenerational family is looking for a loving, happy nanny to join their team! Their home includes the mother and child, and grandma (Nana) and grandpa (Gapa). Mom is a high school physics teacher (which can be difficult to find a substitute for) so having a reliable caregiver is extremely important.
Their 3-year-old is intelligent and well-behaved (albeit with 3-year-old proclivities!). She loves reading, and is self-motivated to learn new things. She loves the outdoors, the beach, the zoo, hiking, art projects and interacting with the adults in her life.
As a family unit, they are not high maintenance, and genuinely want their nanny to feel comfortable in their home! Mom and kiddo live with Nana and Gapa, who had nannies for their own two children (including mom) growing up while they worked busy tech jobs. They have had their current nanny for 2.5 years, and are looking for their next nanny to be committed long term as well!
Their home is very spacious, and includes a separate upstairs wing for mother and child. Nana and Gapa have their own busy lives, which includes hobbies, projects, and travel. Having a nanny that fits well with all of them is important. Additionally, there is a loving, older yellow lab in the home for any nannies with allergy considerations. She loves to be a part of the mix downstairs, but is not allowed upstairs.
The family does have a cat allergy, so nannies with cats should please take care to keep work clothing free of cat hair.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing and loving environment for their child. Job duties will include:
- Getting child ready and to school in a calm manner
- Safely driving to and from Preschool and all other activities including swim lessons, little gym, and any outings/adventures
- Facilitating a 1.5 hour nap or quiet time after preschool
- Providing snacks and meals as needed, doing any child-related dishes
- Including the child in tidying their nursery, clearing their own plate, etc.
- Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities. Bringing forth articles to expand on learning. Ensuring her physical and mental stimulation and nurturing is key!
- Going on adventures to the park, zoo, museum, beach, and hikes
- Balancing nurturing attention with independent play
- Dog walking, light housekeeping, and child-specific cleaning/organizing while she is at preschool
- Tidying of spaces used throughout the day. (They have weekly house cleaners, so deep cleaning is never needed.)
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny has 5+ years of toddler/preschool age experience. An early childhood education background is preferred. A strong fit would be someone who can set firm boundaries while utilizing gentle and positive reinforcement versus discipline and time-outs. Someone who maintains respectful communication and open dialogue throughout the day, as well as experience modeling and teaching emotional regulation, mindfulness and social-emotional skills. Gentle parenting and Montessori philosophies align closely with their values.
A note from Nana:
“We need someone that has pure joy with [grandchild] and is not intimidated by having other adults in the house at times. She is used to being able to give us hugs, come in and twirl in her dress, say goodbye, etc. However, we do not interfere when she is on ‘nanny time’. She is quite used to ‘transitions’ from mom to Nana/Gapa to nanny and they rarely cause her distress. She knows about ‘mama time’ vs. ‘nanny time.”
Their nanny must be a non-smoker with excellent references and a clean driving record (no exceptions). They must have a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle for on the job driving. They should be Covid cautious and fully Covid vaccinated + boosted. They should also have a current CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap). The family is not able to accommodate a nanny bringing their own child along at this time.
