Hi everyone, Casey from Nanny Parent Connection back with an exciting announcement!

For the past five years, the Nanny Parent Connection Jobs Board has been used exclusively by our Concierge Service Search Team.

We’ve heard from many parents who would like to post their own child care need to the Jobs Board so that more nannies and sitters can get “eyes” on their child care need.

Today we are excited to announce that our new and improved Jobs Board is now live! Check it out by clicking here or view an example Jobs Board post below:

Hi everyone, Casey from Nanny Parent Connection back with this week’s video. We hope you are enjoying the final days of summer!

If you’re a nanny driving the kids to events and activities, keeping an accurate record of the miles you drive is crucial to make sure you are accurately reimbursed. What is the easiest and fastest way to track your miles?

Some nannies prefer to use a small notepad they keep in their car or a running tally on a notes application they have on their phone. Many nannies use one of the many mileage tracking apps that exist for both Apple and Android devices.

But with so many apps out there, which one should you choose?

Today, we’ll be reviewing the top 10 mileage tracker apps and breaking down the pros and cons of each to help you find the best fit for your needs. Let’s dive in!

Hi everyone! It’s Laura from Nanny Parent Connection back with this week’s video.

Over the past year, our team has been approached by multiple nannies to discuss whether parents hiring a nanny or sitter should be background checked.

Several of these childcare providers shared some disturbing stories about sexual harassment, wage theft, and domestic violence that they had encountered.

While we have seen a few parents run background checks on themselves within our community, it is not common.

We reached out to several nanny agency partners from across the United States to get their take and heard a similar response: it is rare for parents to run background checks on themselves.

Should parents be background checked? Let’s explore the pros, cons and what our team recommends.

Hi everyone, it’s Casey from Nanny Parent Connection. Today, we want to chat about a topic that’s super important but often overlooked — finding time to take breaks as a nanny.

One major reason it’s hard to take breaks is that our schedules are unpredictable. Kids have a knack for needing something right when you think you can sit down. Nap times can be inconsistent, and emergencies or unexpected tasks can pop up out of nowhere.

Let’s dive into why it’s so challenging for child care providers to get those much-needed breaks. Watch the video to check out some strategies that might help!

Thanks to COVID, virtual or online meetings have exploded in popularity.

Many nannies (and parents) prefer virtual nanny interviews instead of in-person meetings.

Today, let’s explore the pros and cons of virtual nanny interviews. While these virtual meetings offer convenience, they also come with their own set of considerations and one BIG drawback to keep in mind.

Let’s dive in!

Let’s tackle a question we have heard more and more recently: do nannies need to purchase any type of insurance?

There is a lot of confusion out there on this topic. Today, we’ll explore the ins and outs of insurance for nannies, focusing on what types of coverage are essential and what might be optional extras.

(This video will not discuss the types of insurance that families should consider purchasing if they employ a nanny. To learn more about that, please watch this video.)

Hi everyone, Laura from Nanny Parent Connection back with this week’s video.

Today, we’re delving into the controversial topic of nanny cameras. Are nanny cams legal? Should parents use them or not? What do nannies think? Let’s explore.

Nanny cameras, also known as hidden cameras or spy cameras, have become increasingly popular among parents who want to keep an eye on their children while they’re away.

These cameras come in all shapes and sizes, from teddy bears to alarm clocks, and boast a range of features such as live streaming, night vision, and motion detection. Some are hidden in everyday items (like a clock) while others are clearly visible inside the home (like a Ring Indoor Camera).

Let’s start with whether nanny cams are legal or not. There is a lot of confusion about this.
