Becoming a Learning Guide is an incredible opportunity to put your teaching skills to use with just a few kids at a time, helping to enhance remote learning through hands-on teaching experiences.
We are looking for people who have:
Previous experience working with children between the ages of 3 – 14 in either formal or informal learning settings. This might include anything from volunteering with kids in an afterschool program to working as a camp counselor to working as a museum educator, substitute teaching, or serving as a paraprofessional in a classroom. This is also an ideal role for a pre-professional educator who wants to further develop their skills.
Baseline understanding of children’s ages and stages and child development.
Ability to quickly learn new information and maintain active curiosity about a broad number of subjects.
Experience helping children work through conflict and express their feelings.
Experience working with students on the spectrum or experience working with students with learning differences is welcome.
French, German, or Spanish speakers are also needed.
You should be a naturally joyful, present person who connects easily with kids.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: A POST-SECONDARY CREDENTIAL AND AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF WORKING DIRECTLY WITH CHILDREN IN A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
